Free Health Camp at Dakshinkhanda on 19/06/26

Service in Action: Free Health Camp by Rotary Club Durgapur Central::Durgapur, 19/06/26 ; Upholding its motto “Service Above Self”, Rotary Club of Durgapur Central, together with IQ City Hospital, organized a free medical health camp today on 19th June 2026 at Dakshinkhanda Jaruli Para, near Manosha Mandir, Durgapur, Paschim Bardhaman. The camp delivered essential healthcare directly to the community. Specialist doctors from IQ City Hospital carried out detailed check-ups in general medicine and eye care. Every patient received individual attention, professional advice, and caring treatment. 50 local residents benefited from full health assessments and received free essential medicines on the spot. As a follow-up, IQ City Hospital and Rotary Club Durgapur Central have pledged free cataract surgeries along with transport support for 10 identified patients. The initiative will help restore sight and improve daily life for those in need. Once again, the camp highlighted Rotary’s dedication to community health and selfless service. Residents and panchayat members thanked the club for bringing accessible medical care to their area.

Free Health Camp at Chunpora in Bankura on 15/06/26

A Noble Act of Service: Free Medical Camp by Rotary Club Durgapur Central ::Durgapur, 15/06/26; Living up to its motto “Service Above Self" the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central, in collaboration with IQ City Hospital, organized a free medical health camp on 15th June 2026 at Chunpora village, Barjora, Bankura, near Durgapur. The camp brought quality healthcare to the doorstep of villagers. Specialist doctors from IQ City Hospital conducted comprehensive health check-ups covering general medicine and eye care. Patients received personal attention, expert consultation, and compassionate treatment. 50 people benefited from the camp through detailed health assessments and free essential medicines. In a major follow-up initiative, IQ City Hospital, along with Rotary Club of Durgapur Central, has committed to providing free cataract surgeries and transportation for 20 identified patients. This will help restore vision and improve quality of life for those in need. The camp once again reflected Rotary’s strong commitment to community welfare and selfless service. Local residents and panchayat members appreciated the club’s efforts in bringing accessible healthcare to rural areas.

RC Durgapur Central donates water purifier

Rotary Club of Durgapur Central Donates Aquaguard Water Purifier to Arrah Govt. Free Primary School:: Durgapur, 13/06/26; Focusing on health and hygiene, the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central today on 13th June 2026 ,donated an Aquaguard water purifier unit along with complete fittings to Arrah Govt. Free Primary School. The new water purifier will ensure clean and safe drinking water for students and staff throughout the school day. This initiative addresses a basic need and will help prevent waterborne illnesses, allowing children to focus better on their studies. Club members installed the unit and handed it over to the school authorities. They emphasized that access to safe drinking water is fundamental to a child’s health, attendance, and overall learning. The Head teacher Smt Kalpana Tudu and teachers expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for this timely support. They said the purifier will make a real difference in the daily lives of over 90 students who study here.

Rotary Club of Durgapur Central Extends Support to Underprivileged Women and Children in Bidhannagar :: Durgapur, 09/06/26; Upholding its commitment to "Service Above Self" , the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central organized a nutritional food and stationery distribution programme today for residents of Bhombe area, Bidhannagar, Durgapur. As part of the initiative, 35 women from the locality were provided with essential nutritional food items to support their health and well-being. Additionally, 30 school-going children received stationery kits to aid their education and encourage continued learning. The programme was attended by Rtn Anita Maheshwari along with other members of the club, who interacted with the beneficiaries and reaffirmed Rotary’s dedication to community welfare. A free eye check-up camp and medicine distribution program was held on 17th May 2026, by the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central in collaboration with Bahula Young men Association at Bahula . There were experts from Lions Eye Hospital of Raniganj . By giving people in need free eye check up examinations and medications, the event seeks to give the community access to vital healthcare services. About 80 persons today received eye check up examinations and free medications . Out of them a total 25 patients were sent to Lionss Club of Raniganj for a free IOL eye procedure. Protection of plants

At the request of the Headmaster of Nepali Para Hindi High School, the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central supported the installation of polycarbonate sheet covering for the school?s rooftop hydroponics system. This project was carried out with an approximate expenditure of ?75,000 from Rotary funds and others on 25th March 2026. Rtn Santosh Maheshwari of Rotary Club was present during the inauguration of the covering system. The polycarbonate covering will help protect the plants grown in the hydroponics setup from harsh direct sunlight, creating a more suitable environment for their growth and ensuring better sustainability of the rooftop garden.

International Womens day observed

The Rotary Club of Durgapur Central celebrated International Womens Day at Vaishno Devi Mandir premises, near 54 foot in Durgapur on 8th March 2026 evening. Eleven women from diverse fields were honoured with certificates and mementos for their outstanding contributions. The women, selected by an independent panel, represented art & culture, entrepreneurship, academia, social work, and healthcare. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri Kabi Dutta, Chairman of Asansol Durgapur Development Authority. Rotarian Mantaar Singh, President, and members of the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central attended, aiming to recognise womens achievements and inspire others to contribute to a more inclusive society. Renowned specialists, like Gynaecology, Opthalmologist and Genl Medicine from I Q City hospital of Durgapur were present there. In all about 130 persons were medically examined and free medicines were also provided to them and out of those, 25 cases forwarded for free Cataract Eye operation at I Q City hospital. The event saw 25 talented kids competing in various sports. RC Durgapur Central was proud to patronise this event, with Rtn Abhijit Niyogi and Rtn Anita Maheshwari gifting medals and nutritious food to the young champs. These food packets will help them to avail the facilities of education and also help them to nourish amidst Sports activities. Rotary Club of Durgapur Central Spreading Warmth to Mujrakonda Villagers: Durgapur, 28-12-25:: As the winter chill sets in, the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central has stepped forward to spread warmth and comfort to the underprivileged villagers of Mujrakonda, a small village under Jemua panchayat in Durgapur. Health Check up camp at Bahula

The Rotary Club of Durgapur Central (RCDC) organized a Mega Health Check-up Camp at Bahula near Durgapur on 21st Dec 25, in collaboration with Bahula Young Mens Association. The camp was supported by doctors from Lions Club Hospitals, Raniganj, who provided free consultations in General Medicine, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, and more. A total of 200 patients benefited from the mega check-ups, with provisions for advanced treatment as needed. Alongside the health camp, a Screening Camp for IOL (Intraocular Lens) was also conducted in partnership with Lions Club of Raniganj (MLJM Eye Hospital). The team of specialists screened 167 individuals, advising 57 for IOL surgery and referring 110 for further treatment. The surgeries will be performed at MLJM Eye Hospital, supported by Lions Club of Raniganj, in batches starting next week.

The Rotary Club of Durgapur Central, in collaboration with IQ City Hospital, successfully organized a free medical health check-up camp at Bhimgar ISKCON Temple premises on December 10, 2025. A team of expert doctors from IQ City Hospital provided comprehensive health care services, catering to eye, general medicine, and gynaecology needs. The Rotary Club of Durgapur Central further added to the kindness by distributing free medicines to eligible patients. Rtn Mantaar Singh , President was present there during the free medical health checkup camp at Bhimgar Iskcon temple premises. In all 70 patients were treated free of charge. About 50 eye related , 6 Gynae and 14 General Medicine cases were treated. The free cataract operations will be undertaken by the IQ City hospital for 10 patients in their hospital tomorrow.

Under the Womens Empowerment Project run by The Rotary Club of Durgapur Central, provision are being made regularly by experts to provide kick boxing training to 35 girls of Sagarbhanga Girls Hindi High School in Durgapur. Kick Boxing provides many physical and mental benefits such as body flexibility, balance, improvement, self-defense skills and confidence buildup. The Rotary Club Durgapur Central is paying regular training fees for these girls students under Women Empowerment scheme. On 24th July 2025 , after the training session , 35 girl students were provided nutritious food in the presence of the Principal and members of the Rotary Club of Durgapur Central. It is hoped that this type of provision will increase confidence in them and they will move forward and establish new dimensions on women empowerment in the society.
